As the leaves are falling, the home is rising! It’s early November and our colorful leaves are fluttering to the ground daily.

Although it’s time to see our trees shed their leaves, it’s also time that we start seeing our new shouse take shape. We are about 3 weeks into framing the new shouse. The roof trusses are ready to also rise up high. It was quite a sight to see how they 24000 lbs of lumber trusses were delivered. We can’t wait until the framers start slinging up the trusses so we can start closing in the roof.

The weather has cooled off enough for us to enable our freeze protection systems in the truck camper. No frozen pipes this year! We’re fortunate that it warmed up slightly and has only hit freezing overnights a couple of times. Although, we have been dealing with rain storms, having snow on the ground and in the house would’ve been worse.

The changing season is both accelerating the leaf accumulation and slowing down the building activity. We’ve filled our 3 yard dumpster up twice just with leaves. Of course there’s more everywhere around us; in the pine trees and covering the basalt along the creek.

I’m loving the fall leaves throughout our new yard.

It’s been so beautiful as the trees changed to golden giants. Now our golden time is over and we are in cleanup mode slowing marching our way into winter.

“Every leaf speaks bliss to me, fluttering from the autumn tree.”

— Emily Brontë

I hope you’re enjoying your season of leaves and changes as we are. Thanks for stopping by and enjoying the fall season with me.
