July here is warm, fun, and tasty. Think sunshine til 9:30pm. Heat from 12pm – 10pm. Then add in your favorite ice cream.
The color of the month challenge is to find red, white and blue photos. Photos with all three of any of these July colors works. Since I didn’t have a red, white and blue ice cream photo, this french toast master piece will fill in.

In June, we were back in Southern California to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. Newport Beach is a nice place to be in June. It wasn’t too warm yet, the ocean breeze feels great and we were in walking distance to Crystal Cove State Park. Our unplanned clothing choice fits pretty well for this challenge, don’t you think!
Feed the Birds
Feed the birds. It has also been bird season around here. It is fun watching these small guys flit about and the large hawks soaring overhead. More on that next week with our feathers themed photos.

Someday I hope to get more hummingbirds passing through my yard. We’ve seen more this year than in years past. No where near as many as my dear friends feeder gets. They need to replenish their feeders daily.
Fun with Signs
Similar to needing to snap a picture of my flags from a previous Traveling Flags post, unique signs are also eye catching and photo worthy. Here’s a few that fit our color theme this week:

Freezing Fall
Something is a little out of place on this cold Fall 2024 morning.

Warm Spring
We finally got to check off a bucket list trip this past April. Visiting French Polynesia had us traveling via Hawaii. We enjoyed nearly 3 weeks between the two locations. As you can imagine, there’s so much blue in both places! Here’s a couple of my favorite photos showing off red, white and blues.

I feel contentment just looking at that Bora Bora lagoon again. It is so enchanting, clear and warm.
Last but not least, a little red shoulder combined with beautiful ocean and puffy clouds is how I’ll remember our stay on Maui. Taken in Maui with our coastline walk in the background. Even if there were no clouds, I’d say my aging hair contributes to the white color scheme.

You have so many great examples for the color challenge, Cheryl! The dessert and hummer are great! The frozen water spigot is an amazing catch. But your tropical pics are stunning. Love the red canoes lined up! Framable! ❤️🤍💙
