My weekly photo challenge theme is Sports or Hobbies.

Although, I’ve never been into a sport, I do like to stay active. My exercise of choice is swimming plus I walk and hike often. Also, my husband and I kayak in various places through our summer travels. A few posts ago, I shared how I started backpacking. Now, it’s at least a yearly trip with my husband .

Swimming

No one’s ever captured a picture of my actual swimming, but here’s a picture of my new favorite hotel pool. I stayed at the Westin Riverfront Villas in Avon, CO earlier this year and this pool was divine.

Kayaking

Water is definitely my happy place and once we started traveling, we acquired a great tandom kayak. It’s always a joy floating with the right weather and my perfect partner.

Jeep Trails

Maybe not a hobby, but it is always an adventure to take our jeep on the trails. We’ve had fun in the mud and not so much fun on slick, slippery trails. Although I’m not usually the driver, I’m always enthralled with the journey and views.

Wineries

When I saw the theme of sports, I wondered if wine tasting would qualify? Don’t know about other wine lovers reading this, but my wine tasting excursions may have qualified as a sport; now it’s a simple one indulgence. Living near a large and still growing wine valley, Temecula, CA, it was an easy hobby to imbibe in.

Full disclosure…now that I’m retired, I rarely splurge to go wine tasting anymore. However, all my local excursions and non local winery visits left me with cherished memories. I have memories of so many special groups with friends and family to beautiful vineyards just enjoying each other’s company (and the wine).

About the Challenge

I stumbled across a weekly photo challenge and have participated for a few weeks now. Sunday Stills hosted by Terri on her blog, SecondWindLeisure blog, is where I found the challenge. I’ll endeavor to capture a fresh image that fits the theme and also share a few photos from our archives. For me, the photos all tie back to memories of our life and travels together. Hope you find them interesting and enjoyable. Enjoy Terri’s post “#Sports and #Hobbies”.
