It’s monthly color photo challenge time and this month’s color is Metallic; What do you do that shines, sparkles and delights over the holidays? I have a few holiday decor items showing off their sparkle to show off. And, of course, our “tiny house on wheels” has its own metallic look going on. Here’s Maximus showing off it’s metal armor under a starry night sky. But it has nothing over the vast amount of stars above. Stars are the ultimate sparkling decor to any landscape.
This is technically a photo challenge and capturing dark night photos is not something I am really equipped for; I am pretty pleased with how they turned out.
Besides, how best to represent the holidays but with a starry night? But first, here’s a few sparkling trinkets that only a girl can love. At least that’s my hubby’s thinking. 🙄
Sparkling Holiday Decor
Although I no longer have a fireplace and mantel, I still enjoy hanging up my stocking with these sparkling stocking hangers. My nutcracker is part of a small collection. He shines and lights up the corner.

Starry Night
Do you still wish upon a star or navigate with stars as the 3 wise men did?
Oh, star of wonder, star of night
We Three Kings – a Christmas song

Guide us to thy perfect light

Stars always hold a wonder for us and everyone should experience star gazing under dark, clear skies. It’s incredible to really see and experience the vastness of stars out there. This image was taken about 10PM. It was very dark outside and this doesn’t quite do it justice but it was the best my ISO 3200, f5.6 setting captured that night (I’d like to add a better low light lens to my camera bag). That same night, we enjoyed seeing a shooting star as we were setting up the camera. Of course, there were no more once the tripod and camera were in position. 😦

I wish I may, I with I might

I love your starry night image of Death Valley, Cheryl, that little bit of light makes it look more interesting! In our rural area, the night sky is ridiculous with stars! Your gorgeous, glittering decor is wonderful to see, and who needs a mantel and fireplace? We don’t have one anymore, and I refuse to hang stockings on the wood-burning stove! Enjoy your holidays and Merry Christmas if I miss you next week!

I hope you enjoyed your holidays. We did even though it was pouring rain the whole time. But now it’s the New Year and we have sunshine! Looking forward to continuing more Sunday stills with everyone.

Ah, I love the feelings photographs give. Not necessarily their perfection. The vastness and dryness of the desert yellow and then the sky with twinkles far away. Lovely!
