Where do you find your fall color fix? If you’re lucky, you live in a climate that simply offers up warm Autumn colors outside. Maybe even outside your window! I, however grew up in a no fall color type of place. While the temperatures were still great for heading to the beach, I rarely experienced that cozy fall. Pumpkin lattes do still taste wonderful at the beach; in case you were wondering. Hop on in and enjoy a few of my fall favorites for September’s color of the month photo post.
There’s Gold In There Mountains
Retirement has brought me to a new area and a new climate. Although my trees are not yet changing their colors in our future home area, just two years ago we set out to nearby higher elevations just to chase fall colors. I hope you enjoy my found gold in Idaho’s Sawtooth mountains!

We enjoyed the escape into the forest and took the jeep out daily for some trail time.

Glimpse of Fall Found at Thompson Falls, Montana
Stumbling into an unexpected place like, Thompson Falls is why we appreciate having time to meander between destinations. Colorful trees giving a glimpse of what’s to come made for a perfect afternoon stop.

When and where did you last chase fall foliage?

Truly splendid golds and oranges, Cheryl! I know how you felt after growing up in San Diego…two seasons spring and summer. Once we moved to Sacramento, with 3.5 seasons, I fell in love with Autumn again. But I’m good with an iced pumpkin spiced latte at the beach as an alternative. Are the yellow trees quaking aspens in some of the shots? One image has a unique leaf pattern which is not a quaken (as Hans calls them). And yes, I’ve been known to chase Autumn too!
