Spring is the chance to renew, refresh, bring alive, and warm up. What better way to pile on a healthy dose of spring then heading to the Islands. After 4 weeks of repairs, cleaning and packing up our So.California place we returned to Idaho. Spring was ready to burst with the weeds try to claim their space and the temperatures jumping to the 70s.

We didn’t stick around for long. It was time to embark on my long planned multi island trip. So, as our weekly photo themes come up, I’ll share a few specific photos for Sunday Stills posts.

Not Quite Daylight Maui

As always, I’m still waking up before the sun, even with the 4 hour time difference. This time of year this resort is especially busy and being a family kind of place, it can feel overly noisy. I fully enjoy my quiet purple, barely lit morning views.

Day 1 was a down day at the resort. We attempted to enjoy the pool unfortunately the wind has been consistently whipping around making it a less than relaxing time.

Day 2 we decided to head up to Haleakala National Park. Along a stretch of mountain highway are grand purple flowing jacarandas.

Purple Jacaranda Maui

We followed up our volcano visit by a stop at a lavender farm. Although not as glorious this time of year I caught a couple purple shots to share.

I hope you’ll catch a couple of the more in depth trip reports coming up. I’ll post many more photos of our Island time.
