It’s a cooled off July 4th here in Southern Idaho. After a week of mid 90s, landing in the 70s for the majority of the day is cause for celebration. Whether you’re enjoying a day of relaxing, yardwork or, you’re taking advantage of the long weekend to escape, I hope you find time for yourself!
Keeping with the July 4th theme, it is time to showcase a few flag photos. Flags typically catch my attention. This is even more the case when I’m traveling. I am especially drawn to flags blowing in the wind; trying to capture that just right wave and view. The flag has bright, crisp colors and is usually a large focal point making for a nice photographic subject. It’s not just flags as unique doorways and tree shapes grab my attention the same way. Fortunately for you, I’ll stay on point and show you a few of my favorite #Flag photos.
Flag Photos
From a boat leaving the harbor, the boat’s flag waves at the Boston skyline. A memorable solo trip for work had me taking a long weekend exploring the Boston area. An enjoyable place to walk everywhere, enjoy great food, history, architecture. It has something for everyone.
On road trips, we would prefer to avoid bad weather. It doesn’t always work out if there’s a destination and a deadline setting the pace.
Speaking of road trips, I’m still missing our exploring trips in the the truck camper. The house building has kept us from fun road trips. Good thing there’s many photos to look back on. Here’s one of the earlier area discoveries.
From a BLM location above Las Cruces, New Mexico, this attention getting flag wave was part of our earlier Lance camper.
Exploring road trips may be halted, but I’ve not slowed down on my air travel. From small to big airports, it’s all a chore. However, unless my connection time has me running to the next gate, I do enjoy taking in unique airport architecture and sights. Might as well make the best of the time you’re waiting about!
Seeing an American Airlines plane in the background made this a fun capture.
Last is my local favorite. A local tradition is to hang this massive flag across the Snake River in Twin Falls, ID. It’s quite a view from all angles. If you ever travel into Twin Falls, this bridge will be the first thing you see. I highly recommend stopping at the visitor center and take a stroll along the canyon edge. You’ll most likely see a base jumper or two.
I’ll be enjoying the cooler day today. The rest of this day will be working in the yard. After dinner we’ll make our way to the local high school for the city fireworks.

Great you are back home to work on the new place, Cheryl! We were so happy to be back home again after spending 3 weeks in AZ again in May.
You have some spectacular images of the flag! All so unique. The flag hanging in the airport terminal against the plane tail is amazing. That took perfect timing! Your opening shot was great, too! Enjoy your 4th celebrations.
We’re sticking close to home in order to see the illegal fireworks show happening later. We can simply sit in our backyard on the south side and watch them.

We have too many trees surrounding us but a quick 1/2 mile drive to the school parking lot allowed us to watch the city’s firework show plus at least 4 other mini shows going around town. We were also gone about 3 weeks in June and were both glad to be back at it on the shouse.
