Schnelby Hill road is a popular OHV trail to explore east of Sedona. Our destination was the vista point which at 6000’ elevation is worth the bumpy, twisty, mountain drive. The road is designated for high clearance vehicles making it popular with the Jeep tour operators.
We packed up water and lunch and we made our way to the trail head.
Due to the season the road is closed at the 4 mile marker which is at the vista. In warmer weather you can continue over the pass to the I-17. On our visit, There was mud and unmelted snow making the drive even more interesting.
We encountered a doe and 4 point buck on the way up. They jumped out to snack across the road just as we drove around a bend.
