When there’s altitude…
Glacier lake is a 4.6 mi out and back trail. Located in the Absaroka Wilderness area and at least a 30 min drive from Red Lodge. Although it was described to me as an easy trail, I’m pretty sure that was about the path and it was a nicely maintained and easy to navigate trail. Alltrails describes it as moderate. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/montana/glacier-lake–2
The climb was a brutal for me working with the elevation and adding another 1492 in elevation gain; water and breaks were both my friends. Bridge, water, flowers, quiet, falls, and a cool breeze are ingredients for a trail worthy of the challenge.
