Challenge: Under The Trees
Hope you enjoy this new post for my photography challenge. Last week there was a break and no theme. And this weeks theme is difficult as I happen to be in an area where the trees are more beat up than inspiring. So, I not only spent more time selecting some interesting photos from the archive, but I also set out to find something interesting under the trees here in Wyoming. Hey, I decided it’d give me a chance to use the camera on my new cell phone. Let’s see what quality I can get out this new fangled thing.
About the Challenge
I’ve always enjoyed photography and once we started traveling and were retired, I have time to do more. More of everything. More mistakes, more edits, more learning. I started our blog as a place to share our travels and stories beyond just a shared photo album.
Now, I stumbled across a weekly photo challenge and decided to participate. Sunday Stills hosted by Terri on her blog, SecondWindLeisure blog is where I found the challenge. I’ll endeavor to capture a fresh image that fits the theme and also share a few photos from our archives. For me, the photos all tie back to memories of our life and travels together. Hope you find them interesting and enjoyable.

I know I’ve taken trees for granted most of my life; now I’m usually watching for light patterns through the leaves or interesting shapes when snapping pictures. Admittedly I never thought much abut under the trees. Maybe I took this too literally. When I was first looking for an image opportunity, nothing popped. Then as I browsed through my past photos, it hit me. Life is what happens under trees. Take a look and see if you agree.
Today’s Random Finds
Unless I posed myself or Cooper, the puggle, under a tree I wasn’t going to find much to show you. But here’s my best find wandering about a tree filled cemetery. And now that I think about it, this is still showing life is under these trees. Lives lived and lives losst all exist right here.

Under the Trees from my Archives
Over the 3+ years of traveling I have so many favorites. I attempted to group them so they don’t seem to be a million tree pictures!
The Whimsey – How about a fairy garden found at the Mystic Gardens in MI

The People – Friends, Family, Lunch, and Delightful new Finds

Shelter for Animals
Birds are obvious but we also have raccoons and squirrels living in trees around us. When we’re in Wyoming we frequently find deer wandering the neighborhood. This deer photo was so picturesque.

The Colorful – Tulips, Lights and Art
The Random
A Courtyard, a Lake / Waterfalls, a Rock embedded into the base of the tree before it fell, Lava, and grape vines

The Fun and the Messy
The post wind-storm mess at home from our trees and pups playing in the shade of our fig tree.

You have discovered many wonderful things that can be found under the trees! If you get a minute, please link this post directly to mine so more people can see your link. I love that first set with the buck contentedly sitting amongst the gravestones. I also like that last lone tree image with the mist. Thanks for sharing for Sunday Stills this week!
