Spring & Green Go Together
I haven’t found a spring in my step yet. Have you?
Although, my step lacks enthusiasm, I am feeling the warmth of spring. My daily walks are warm, sunny and green.

My fig tree has it’s new leaves budding.

Green is the soul of Spring. Summer may be dappled with yellow, Autumn with orange and Winter with white but Spring is drenched with the colour green.

Changes are afloat. Our Idaho shouse build activity is on hold while we work on the citrus orchard (our previous residence). That puts us in Southern California. I expect we’ll be here the rest of March. It’s a busy time full of repairs, packing, and massive tree and leaf cleanup at the place I’ve called the Citrus Orchard.

Can you smell the blossoms? Orange blossoms are fully blooming and the air smells divine on my walking trail. Who doesn’t love the sweet, floral, citrusy smell of orange blossoms.
Spring cleaning is no joke around here. I finished washing the inside drawers of a bathroom vanity yesterday. By the end of the week, I’ll be driving a commercial carpet cleaner and Steve will be armed with the pressure washer. Soon this little mini orchard will be on the market.
We’re looking forward to releasing this 1.25 ac property to its next owner. We’ll miss the fresh OJ.

We’ll miss the owls and other wildlife. We’ve been entertained by squirrels, birds, raccoons, skunks, possums. Cooper (R.I.P.) had too many encounters to list; some required dog repairs others just required emergency bathing.

While we’re here we’re missing the mud and rain season in Idaho. Maybe it’ll dry up by the time we return?

We’ve had such lovely weather here in SoCal lately, right? While we don’t have an orchard, we do have three citrus trees: an orange, a lemon, and a lime. The blossom scent is intoxicating. I can’t wait to start making this year’s batch of limoncello. 🙂 I would love to have an owl as a regular visitor… your picture is wonderful! Enjoy your last spring in your SoCal home!

I’d love to try making Limoncello. Do you have a favorite recipe to share? I don’t have many oranges yet, but have lots of lemon to enjoy!

Yes! I will get it to you. There are many online but I’ve scaled up the one I use because I buy a BIG bottle of Kirkland vodka. Yum!

So many gorgeous photos dripping in green, Cheryl! I love that owl! You have your work cut out for you. It will be worth it in the end. Enjoy sunny, warm SoCal while you can. Best wishes on getting your house “ready for the prom!”

The scent and taste of that fresh orange is a real asset to the place.
